We have been using 3D TV's with P3D for sometime and have tended to use the LG range of passive stereo TV's.

Most LG 3D TV's use circular polarised glasses and you can easily subsitute with the RealD ones that you can often get at the cinema for a pound or so.

Most LG 3D TV's also support side x side and over / under content, so there is no problem supplying the P3D content over a DVI to HDMI, or HDMI to HDMI cable.

If the main purpose is to use as a 3D monitor, then you don't need all the fancy features that bump up the price. Just go for a basic one and look for the size you want, refresh rate and make sure it is passive stereo.
